Rabbi Zalman and Sterna Samama have dedicated their hearts and souls to nurturing and growing the South Shore Jewish community and beyond. In 2011, as emissaries of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, they arrived in Brossard with two young children and a vision to create a warm and welcoming Jewish home for every Jew, one person at a time.

Today, Baruch Hashem, that vision has blossomed into a thriving and vibrant community center serving hundreds of individuals and families across the South Shore. Alongside their growing community, the Samama family has also grown and is now a busy family of six.

In 2018, the first Chabad Jewish Community Centre opened its doors, creating a hub for Jewish life, learning, and connection. Since then, the community has continued to flourish with weekly Shabbat services and Kiddushim, inspiring adult education classes, a dynamic Hebrew School and Jewish Day Camp, women’s events, holiday celebrations, youth programming, community outreach initiatives, and meaningful learning opportunities for all ages.

What began modestly in their home has grown into a vibrant center filled with warmth, friendship, and Jewish pride. Chabad of the South Shore strives to ensure that every individual feels welcomed, valued, and connected, regardless of background or level of observance.

Whether you are looking to learn more about Judaism, attend a class or service, celebrate a holiday, enroll your child in Hebrew School or camp, or simply connect with community, our doors and hearts are always open.
